   Hi,
   I downloaded win version of k-3d, sadly tutorials stop after the three basic tuts.

   I wonder if K-3d can do boolean operations with meshes. I found an info in FAQ ’check the boolean tutorial’, so where can I get that?
   Or maybe one can tell the wiki how to do boolean operations with objects?

   The FAQ was out-of-date - when we rewrote the K-3D user interface, we had to start-over from scratch writing tutorials. More are in development.

   Hi,
   I have to do Boolean operations and i followed the latest tutorials:
   http://www.k-3d.org/wiki/CGAL_Boolean_Operations

   It required me to install CGAL library and i did with the latest version of 3.6.1-2. I even found that GMP and MPFR are installed in my Ubuntu 10.10. I even restarted my pc after the CGAL installation.

   But i couldnt find CGALBoolean in Mesh Modifier menu!!
   I have 0.8.0.2 K-3D

   what am i missing?

   If you're using the K-3D provided by Ubuntu, it doesn't include the CGAL plugins. Individual distros make their own decisions on which plugins to include in their packages, based on dependencies, reliability, etc. Since it sounds like Ubuntu might have all of the prerequisites for the CGAL plugin already, it may simply be a matter of encouraging the Ubuntu packagers to enable the CGAL plugin in their build. Alternatively, you can build K-3D from source.

   -How could I do this.. any suggestions?

   However I tried building k3d myself following the instructions in here:
   http://developer.k-3d.org/

   But it was incomplete due to some errors.
   Any suggestions what I could do?
   I am sorry for my questions, but I am neither an expert in Ubuntu.
