there is export functions in k-3d that is export to ’*.gts’ and ’*.raw’ and ’*.x’ and ’*.k3d’.
but do not exist function to export to .obj format.
i need export plugins for export to *.obj .
Is there export plugins for save as *.obj in k-3d.

Hi su-hwajung!
K3d does export to .obj, but it is not on the File menu.
Go to:
Create->GeometryWriter->OBJMeshOutput (K-3D 0.6, on 0.7 the names are different, but same thing)
Connect the \"OBJMeshOutput\" property (\"Input Mesh\") to the output of the object instance you want to export.

Hello all,
I have a trouble understanding how to export mesh of a cylinder in .stl format. Reading the above reply by JoaquÃn to su-hwajung, i did the following.
create->MeshWriter->STLMeshWriter
Then i do these:
Node List-> Polycylinder (and not Polycylinder Instance -am I right?)->Node properties->Output Mesh->connect to->STLMeshWriter->Input Mesh.
As soon as the above is completed k-3d shuts down.
I dont know am i doing things correctly or not.
I tried choosing 'Polycylinder Instance' to do the above operation. But i dont see anything like 'Output Mesh' but only 'Output Matrix' in its node properties.
Please help.

The main issue is that you're connecting the properties backwards ... when you choose "Connect to ..." for a property, you are choosing the property that it gets its value from, rather than the other way around. So what you want to do is:
* Choose Create > Polyhedron > PolyCylinder
* Choose Create > MeshWriter > STLMeshWriter
* Choose Node List > STLMeshWriter > Input Mesh > Connect To > PolyCylinder > Output Mesh
* Specify the output filename for Node List > STLMeshWriter > File
As a secondary issue, K-3D shouldn't crash if you connect the properties backwards. I think you must be using an older version (current is 0.8.0.2), because connecting the properties backwards here doesn't crash. I think this also explains why you aren't seeing an "Output Mesh" property in the MeshInstance.
