   Hello everybody,

   I am a newby with K-3D.

   After some tests, I have seen that it was possible to modify (position, rotation, scale, ...) a whole mesh either with the mouse or entering numbers in a menu command, for instance : \"Modify/Mesh/TranslatePoints\".

   What I want to do is to move only one (or some) point of a mesh. I have seen it is possible with the mouse by selecting first the whole mesh then selecting the point I want to move, then selecting the \"Move\" tool and finally diplacing the point on the screen with the mouse. This method is simple but not precise and I have to move the point in the three different setview X, Y and Z to be sure that the point have been correctly moved in this three directions.

   My question : is it possible to move only one point of a mesh by selecting this point and entering X, Y and Z displacements in a menu command such as \"Modify/Mesh/TranslatePoints\" ?

   You can use the move tool with the Tool Properties panel
   1-Select the object
   2- Use the vertex selection mode (press key 2)
   3- From the Tool Properties panel type the coordinate.

   The problem is that there is a bug with the plugin, and your changes won’t be saved i you have typed the coordinates.(should be fixed in the near future)

   * Choose the Modify > Mesh > Translate Points from the menu.
   * In the Node Properties Panel, enter the X, Y, and Z offsets.

   If you then need to move more points using exact offsets, repeat the process:

   * Select the new points to be offset.
   * Choose Modify > Mesh > Translate Points.
   * Manually enter the offsets.

   Obviously, this gets a little clunky if you’re manually moving lots of points around, but we assume that that isn’t normally necessary.

   Tims solution is a good workaround.

   To make it faster I suggest you assigning a hotkey to the TranslatePoints modifier.
   Go to:
   Edit -> Assign Hotkeys (a dialog will pop up)
   Go to Modifier-> Mesh-> TranslatePoints and press the key you want to assign.
   Close the dialog window

   Then you can apply the modifier faster once you selected the points.

   In fact you are talking about Face Triangularization. Actually this is done automatically. Probably the result depends on where the first vertex of a face is.

   You may force the triangularization by connecting two vertices.
   1- Select the desired points that will be connected by the edge
   2- Apply the ConnectVertices modifier.

   But you shouldn’t care about it if you are going to work with hi-res models, since when you apply MakeSDS modifier this kind of thing are automatically solved.
