Notes

The rendered appearance of a surface in a mesh is determined by its material. Only one material may be assigned to a surface (polygonal face, quadric, patch, etc) at-a-time. To support different render models (RenderMan, OpenGL, Yafray, etc), assign a MultiMaterial node to the surface, then reference the render-engine-specific materials by adding user properties.
