Memory Allocation Failed

This message was originally posted by Nobody/Anonymous on 08/17/2006 03:40:05
hi!
I have compiled K-3D Version 0.5.16.0 from source on Kubuntu 6.0.6.
When I try to access file -> new, K3D crashes. I get the following output:
---
***MEMORY-ERROR***: k3d[5785]: GSlice: failed to allocate 504 bytes (alignment: 512): Cannot allocate memory
---
I get different memory allocation errors (raised by different functions).
It only crashes on certain functions, like creating a new file, etc.
Any idea why this happens?

Not sure what to say, sounds like you’re running out of memory. Try watching top while you run K-3D, or run it in a debugger.
Cheers,
Tim
