Installed on Gentoo Linux today and when I fire it up I get a segmentation fault:
/usr/bin/k3d: line 180: 7863 Segmentation fault /usr/bin/k3d-bin --options /home/dingfelder/.k3d/options.k3d --plugins /usr/lib/k3d --shadercache /home/dingfelder/.k3d/shadercache --share /usr/share/k3d --tutorials /usr/share/k3d/tutorials --ui /usr/lib/libk3dngui.so
How can I troubleshoot what the issue is?

Hi!
I guess you are using K-3D 0.6.
I would suggest you trying with the last SVN version 0.7
http://www.k-3d.org/wiki/Subversion
http://www.k-3d.org/wiki/CMake_Build
Also if you are using KDE try using other desktop (xfce for example). There are some problems with KDE and K-3D.
If this doesn’t work, please provide us more information. Version, steps.
Cheers,
Joaquín.

Hi!
Anyway. Did you test the last version? (0.7)
Most linuxes gives you the option of having multiple users at the same time. Have you consider this option? (having a second user with another desktop?)
Please tell us more details about your distro and k-3d version. Also the steps. Eventually it could be tested.
Cheers!
Joaquín
