Install k3D 0.8 on Ubuntu 10.10

I have install k3D by:
sudo apt-get install k3d
It`s work but I can lunch them by gnome menu, only with terminal.
Problem i have - can`t import .obj .3ds and etc.
Program say:
"No plugin installed that can import documents of type 0."
Plugins installed in /usr/lib...
I try this: k3d --plugins /usr/lib...
How can i fix it.

Yes, I've noticed that K-3D doesn't show up in the Gnome menu in Ubuntu 10.10. You should mention it to the Ubuntu K-3D maintainers to let them know that people are using K-3D.
There are multiple ways to import and export data, see http://www.k-3d.org/wiki/Import_and_Export ... if you look under the Create > MeshReader menu you'll see support for 3DS, GTS, MD2, OBJ, PLY, STL, and SVG files.
Cheers,
Tim
