K3D Viewport Problem - Windows 7 64-bit

I have a problem when viewing the viewport after opening up the program.
I open it up, and I had a message pop-up to tell me this must disable desktop composition to run it. I click 'OK', and this messed the viewport up badly. Everything that's buffered in it is instead copied from what was last in that general area except the mouse, and this is with the 'Disable Desktop Composition' check-box enabled. It looked fine and looked like it'd work without it enabled, but the program keeps forcing the 'Disable Desktop Composition' to be enabled after I close/click 'OK' the first update pop-up on start-up, which takes up that weird effect right after.
I can't work with this, and I even tried to set it to work in 256 colors, but it took out most of my navigation inside the program. It fixed the buffer problem in the viewpoint, but everything else is far too hard to work around.
If this helps any, the graphics card I currently have is "Intel GMA 3100", but when checking the statistics, it meets the display requirements needed for the program. No matter where I look, I cannot find any answers on this matter. I don't know if it's the graphics card or if it's the program's force in disabling the desktop composition. How can I fix this?
The current version of K3D I currently have is 0.8.0.1. Thanks in advance!
PS - I did look in the wiki for the answer, but that didn't help at all. In fact, it's the opposite of what I wanted to happen.

Yes, the disabling of desktop composition stems from Vista, which handled things poorly. Until we get an update out, you can try to remove the windows plugin (k3d-windows.module and k3d-windows.module.proxy) from the modules directory:
C:\Program Files\K-3D 0.8.0.1\lib\k3d\plugins
